An Invitation to Safety and Security in Today’s America“

4 He brought me to the banqueting house,
And his banner over me was love.
5 Sustain me with cakes of raisins,
Refresh me with apples,
For I am lovesick.”
Song of Solomon 2:4-5 (ESV)

We live in perilous times. Now more than ever, it is imperative to know and to be certain we are known by GOD. Most importantly, it is important to know who our GOD is.

The illusion of safety and security for the average American, especially in minority cultures, was shattered a long time ago; current events simply confirm the fears and frustrations of many.

I had a recent, personal encounter I would like to share to illustrate the necessity to know and be known by JESUS the CHRIST.

This past week, my daughter was driving home from college. It was around 10 pm and a police officer stopped her. She pulled into a gas station and waited for him to approach. He stated that he smelled marijuana (weed) in her moving car from his moving car. She fit his profile.

She explained clearly that there was no weed in her car, nor did she smoke at all. Unfortunately, that was not enough for him. He proceeded to search her car and found nothing. Praise GOD the officer did not plant anything in my daughter’s car.

Nevertheless, he persisted with his accusations. Finally, after his inability to get her to admit something she did not do, he let her go.

A little background: My daughter has never smoked weed; she leads Bible Study on her college campus and has made Dean’s List all three years of her college career. In fact, she attends college on a presidential academic scholarship. All that does not matter to the wrong police officer on the wrong day and at the wrong time.

But JESUS every day, matters.

At the exact time she was being pulled over, HOLY SPIRIT told me at home, miles away, what was happening. But I was exhausted and did not have the strength to pray. Nevertheless, I gave GOD agreement to move on behalf of my daughter with this flimsy prayer: “Well, JESUS, she is YOUR daughter too, so YOU take care of it…good night.” Then I went to sleep.

HE did. Victoria left that situation emotionally scarred from the false accusations, but physically unharmed. She had never been accused of breaking the law before in her life.

I had confidence the LORD would protect my child because I knew who and in whom I have believed. I know HIS voice, I feel HIS presence, I talk to HIM and HE talks back. HE is my FATHER, LOVER, FRIEND. HIS banner over me, my husband and children, is love.

HE sustains me with delicious raisin cakes, representing sweet nourishment, baked with special attention. HE refreshes my soul with apples.

Today in America, we who believe in JESUS CHRIST need to know the GOD we claim to love and who Loves us back. HE is the Almighty, dispatching warrior angels to protect those who trust in HIM.

Song of Solomon 2:14 (NKJV) expresses the level of intimacy GOD is looking for from us.

“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret places of the cliff, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely.”

This intimacy is hidden from the eyes of people, but near to the heart of GOD.

I would like to introduce you to Go Behind the Veil (GBTV), the online prayer and teaching arm of WeRemnant.org. We invite you to join us in intimate fellowship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST. We will teach, learn and demonstrate GOD’s Word together.

This way, when trouble comes knocking at your door, your first instinct will be Faith and not fear.

LORD JESUS, Find Pleasure In Me

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:12-13 (ESV)

It is easy to “miss” the faith walk that requires sacrifice.

Our minds and emotions want to cling to the GOD who does everything for us – the ONE who is 100 percent love, which HE is, without the justice, mercy, righteousness, judgment and most importantly, HOLINESS. GOD is HOLY. When the angels speak to each other about GOD in Isaiah 6 and in the book of Revelation, they describe HIM as HOLY.

“Holy” means set apart, consecrated, completely other. Completely perfect, beautiful. Completely unexplainable in human terms. Even angels cover their faces and cannot look directly at our Holy GOD.

Out of HIS Holiness come all HIS attributes, which are much more than love.

As a HOLY and loving FATHER, HE requires HIS children to be responsible. There are responsibilities associated with our love-walk, also known as faith-walk, with GOD.

So, what does HE require of me? What is my right response to HIS sacrifice that fixed and fixes me everyday?

“He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?”
Micah 6:8 ESV

“Do justice”…that is an action. “Love kindness”…that is a heart condition.

So when Philippians 2:12-13 says “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,” it is so true. In a world where vengeance has overtaken justice, we need everyone to put on the heart condition of kindness and humility, remembering that we will all give account for both our heart’s condition and our actions. Nothing escapes the eyes of a Holy GOD.

When you and I share our food with the hungry, come to the aid of the oppressed, and deliberately pray for those who persecute us, we are working out our salvation with fear and trembling.
But the good news is, we are not walking it out alone. It is GOD HIMSELF, that Holy GOD living within us who is wooing us, working in us, to will and to do HIS good pleasure.

On behalf of those whom you feed, educate, clothe, pay for their prescription medications, both in the USA and in all nine countries where WeRemnant has projects, thank you for doing GOD’s good pleasure.

On behalf of the persecuted lovers of JESUS who are walking out their faith under fear of discovery, living and worshiping in caves and other hiding places within mountains, we thank you for walking out your salvation by showing them kindness through the supplies you send monthly.

Ekklesia or Church: Changing Culture for CHRIST

17Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.

18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church [Ekklesia], and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.’” Matthew 16:17-18

Now look at verse 18 in the Greek, which is what the original language of the New Testament. https://biblehub.com/text/matthew/16-18.htm

Ekklesia engages culture, seeking to be the solution where there is a problem. We bring the light of JESUS CHRIST into every situation we encounter. The Hogue family is a great example of Ekklesia in action. They are teaching the Body of CHRIST how to care for orphans in America.

Infusing, transforming culture with JESUS CHRIST, is what makes us salt on the earth and light in the world.

The word Ekklesia was incorrectly translated as “Church” in our Bibles. However, GOD is fixing all of that in this season. HE shut down the stuff that was not working and is reintroducing HIS children to HIS Kingdom. What is the definition of Ekklesia?

Etymology and meaning
Where the Masoretic Text uses the term qahal, the Septuagint usually uses the Koine Greek term ekklesia, ἐκκλησία, which means "summoned group" (literally, "they who are called out").

What did they do?
In ancient Greek culture, the gathering ofcalled out ones” met to discuss and make decisions about war and foreign policy; wrote, and revised laws; and approved or condemned the conduct of public officials.

JESUS uses this word to describe the activities of HIS children in the world. We are to be involved in every aspect of culture, government, business, banking, education, entertainment, and much more.

Not confined to buildings.

Being "called out ones" is in line with everything GOD has been saying throughout Scripture.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light…” 1 Peter 2:9

Out of the SEED (JESUS) and seed (Jacob aka Israel) of Abraham, HE created a called-out people, holy, separate unto HIMSELF – people whom GOD can trust to do HIS Will on the earth. People who are lead by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

Ekklesia is a gathering of "called out ones", who are lead by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

The Hogue family in picture above, fostered 18 children and adopted 10. When the call of the LORD by HIS SPIRIT came to enter the invisible mission field of orphans in America, they did not hide, rather they engaged.

In this season of transition across the world, the LORD wants us to see that the gates of hell cannot prevail against HIS “called out ones” that are lead by HIS SPIRIT.

The voice of our FATHER sets us apart and we are undefeatable because of it.

We the Remnant of JESUS CHRIST, HIS Ekklesia on the earth must rise up and become the solution. When we support foster families, provide foster care or adopt a child or children in need, we are demonstrating our Ekklesia-ness on the earth.

On behalf of those whom you feed, educate, clothe, deliver Bibles to, pay for their prescription medications, adopt/foster/support, both in the USA and in all nine countries where WeRemnant has projects, thank you for doing GOD’s good pleasure.

On behalf of the persecuted Ekklesia of JESUS who are walking out their faith under fear of discovery, living and worshiping in caves and other hiding places, we thank you for walking out your salvation by showing them kindness through the supplies you send monthly.

Salvation for All at the Price of ONE

21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
Colossians 1:21-23 (NKJV)

WeRemnant does not own this video, just sharing with everyone.
Salvation is free because JESUS CHRIST paid for it.

Amid the societal turmoil that we are all experiencing, the hope of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST is an anchor for our souls. The knowledge that we are in this world but not of it is so comforting. However, let us guard our hearts not to allow that thought to become so comforting that we disengage and withdraw from the world that JESUS called us to go into and disciple.

We must be ready and willing to take the light of JESUS CHRIST into the dark, darker, and darkest places of this world. Before we cross over into Heaven, we must spread the fragrance of our JESUS CHRIST, carried by the winds of the HOLY SPIRIT, to every corner of the earth.
But what does JESUS-light look like?

What does the fragrance of our CHRIST smell like? Let’s discuss specifics.

Today, right now, it means loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, even if our neighbor is a different race, culture, belief structure, political party or lifestyle choice. JESUS loves all sinners (my former self included), but hates the sin.

That is why true salvation brings about a heart change first, before a behavior change.

JESUS-light looks like disagreeing without hating or vilifying each other.
JESUS-fragrance smells like justice and not vengeance.
JESUS-light feels like kindness even when it is not popular.
JESUS-light is the fruit of the SPIRIT expressed through us.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”  Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
In this season of unrest and division in our nation, take the time to engage the darkness with the light of JESUS CHRIST. Remember, we are sent to seek and to save the lost just like HE did (Luke 19:9-10).

When you and I (WeRemnant) partner with Inga Ministries and Voice of the Martyrs to provide 500 Bibles and purchase a motorbike to deliver both Bibles, food, and more, we are doing our part to make disciples.

Remember that we, too, were reconciled back to GOD the FATHER through the sacrifice of LORD JESUS CHRIST. Remember that we all need the BLOOD of JESUS to clean us and keep us clean. Our own blood was not enough to pay the righteous price for our own sins.

With this same understanding, let us show mercy, kindness, long suffering, and justice to our neighbor even if we do not agree with them.

Run to the darkness, engage in constructive conversations, volunteer, serve, give, spread the fragrance of JESUS in your world. Amen.

On behalf of those whom you feed, educate, clothe, deliver Bibles to, pay for their prescription medications, both in the USA and in all nine countries where WeRemnant has projects, thank you for doing GOD’s good pleasure.

Congratulations, You Are an Answer to Prayer

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.’” Psalm 40:6-8 (NKJV)

I absolutely love this verse in the Holy Bible. See the same verses in The Passion Translation (TPT):

“It’s not sacrifices that really move your heart. Burnt offerings, sin offerings—that’s not what brings you joy. But when you open my ears and speak deeply to me, I become your willing servant, your prisoner of love for life. 7 So I said, ‘Here I am! I’m coming to you as a sacrifice, for in the prophetic scrolls of your book you have written about me. 8 I delight to fulfill your will, my God, for your living words are written upon the pages of my heart.’” Psalm 40:6-8 (TPT)

Image above: Cancer patient outside Uganda Cancer Institute at Mulago hospital in Kampala, receiving clean water and monthly food supply from WeRemnant coordinators..
These verses written by King David many decades ago show the desire of GOD, the CREATOR of everything, for a friend…a friend in me. HE wants you and me to be HIS friends.

HE wants to share HIS heart with our ears, so HE opens them so we can hear HIM. GOD wants to have deep conversations with us, private conversations with HIS prisoners of love for life.

Oh, our hearts should long to hear what is on the heart of Almighty GOD. Many times, when HE speaks, HE is talking to us about us, and other human beings. HE is so concerned about how we treat each other that the very second command JESUS gives is to love our neighbor as well as we love ourselves.

“The religious scholar answered, ‘It states, “You must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your passion, all your energy, and your every thought. And you must love your neighbor as well as you love yourself.”’” Luke 10:27 (TPT)

Therefore, when you provide food for an abandoned mother and her four disabled children, you are loving your neighbor as much as you love yourself.

The lady in this image below is from a remote village in Malawi. Her husband, a peasant farmer, abandoned her and her four children because he believed she could only produce disabled children for him. Therefore, he simply left.

All alone and without the ability to farm, the mother’s only prayer was for GOD to send them food to eat so she and her children would not starve to death.

Thanks to you and I loving our neighbor as well as we love ourselves, the LORD used us to provide a steady monthly supply of food for her and her four disabled children.

What a Mighty GOD we serve. HE knows where the needs are, and HE knows how to get the right aid to HIS people.

Congratulations, you are an answer to prayer.
Thank you for expressing your love for JESUS in a way those in need can touch it and feel it.

Love Even When Hated

“Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples
like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass,
which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man.
8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations,
in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down
and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver.
9 Your hand shall be lifted up over your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off.”
Micah 5:7-9 (ESV)

Though they deem us as non-essential, we will still serve.

Though they tell us not to sing in churches, we will still worship.

Though they burndown our houses, stone us, kill our children, feed us to lions, we will still preach the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST, because it is power.

The remnant of Jacob, also known as (aka) Israel, aka the BODY of CHRIST, aka Christians, are in the middle of everyday people because we are everyday people wearing the love and power of GOD. We are the Remnant of the LORD JESUS CHRIST placed on the earth to continue HIS work. WeRemnant.
We the Remnant are the ones not ashamed of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST because we know it is power. Incredible.

For those who do not know the power contained inside JESUS, there is shame, sorrow, depression, anger, frustration, and much more. Today, being a committed, Bible-believing follower of JESUS CHRIST means ridicule, false accusations, starvation, jail time, beatings, watching your children burn alive, and all kinds of unspeakable persecutions – discomfort at best, torture or death at worst, all over the world.

While we are among the nations, we are different.

It takes power to endure persecution and still stand for JESUS. It takes love to pray for our enemies, to feed them when they are hungry, to bless them even when they curse us (Romans 12), understanding that even as we suffer at their hands, we still have the UPPERHAND.

I think of JESUS, who, knowing the temple guard was there to take HIM to the Cross, still picked up the bleeding ear cut off by a disciple, and stuck it back on.

As in, HE healed HIS persecutor Luke 22:49-51 (ESV)

In partnership with Inga Ministries in Uganda, Bangladesh and India; Shepherd’s Heartbeat in Liberia; and all other WeRemnant sponsored projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and the United States of America, we feed, educate and medically support all.

In these countries, we feed both Christians and those of other faiths who may want to beat and even kill our coordinators.

In these countries, we pay teachers so that children of Muslim, Christian, and pagan/traditional religions in these remote villages can have an education.

In these countries, we provide clean water on church-owned properties in remote areas, so that village witches, warlocks, Muslims and Christians can have clean water to drink, thus preventing waterborne diseases and deaths from hippopotamus when visiting the local rivers to fetch dirty, larval-filled water.

In these countries, we provide medical supplies and treatment to those in need through our partners, regardless of their faith or ability to pay.

We understand that JESUS did not call us to hide away HIS light shining through us.

Though they deem us as non-essential, we will still serve.
Though they tell us not to sing in churches, we will still worship.
Though they burndown our houses, stone us, kill our children, feed us to lions, we will still preach the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST, because it is power.

Thank you, WeRemnant family. Your love gifts reflect the power of JESUS to a dying world. Amen

WeRemnant is Heading to Kenya!

We praise GOD for bringing us to a new year and a new decade! We are excited to share that WeRemnant is sending a team on a mission trip to Kenya in January!

Kenya Mission Report

In January 2020, WeRemnant took a team of six to Bungoma, Kenya, to show the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST to HIS children. It was a hard but glorious trip. We took three planes and a two-hour drive to get to the villages we serve in. On the way from the airport, our rented truck broke down. We were stuck on the side of the road for more than two
hours! This is the stuff missionary stories are made from.

This morning, as I spend time before the LORD in devotion, HE reminded me of why we went. Why we left the comfort of our western lifestyles, air conditioning, smooth paved roads, and cheeseburgers, to brave the heat, roller coaster style streets, and foreign foods. Why would a normal human take vacation days from work to do that?

Simple. Because we are Family.

We stopped being normal when we fell in love with JESUS and chose to prove our love with obedience – because we LOVE JESUS, and JESUS LOVE looks like obedience.

When JESUS was asked, “Who is YOUR family, because you mother and brothers are asking after YOU,” HE simply pointed at HIS disciples (you and me) and said, “Only those who DO the will of my FATHER are my family.”

In January, obedience looked like:

  • 115 children received school supplies
  • 70 children received “Shoes that Grow” and 20 more received regular shoes
  • A seventh well was dug to provide more than 200 people with clean water
  • Three schools received first aid and hygiene training
  • Seven churches prayed and shared the Good News that JESUS CHRIST is real and
  • cares about our living conditions

Matthew 12: 46-50 (NIV)
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

2 Corinthians 9: 9-15 (NIV)
9 As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is
also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
13 Because of the service by
which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his
indescribable gift!

Amid COVID-19, Wonders are still what HE Does

11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly FATHER give the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ask HIM!” Luke 11:11-13 NKJV

In the midst of COVID-19, wonders are still what YOU do, JESUS.

Bodies are still being healed. There are more surviving than succumbing to this terrible pestilence. Our hearts go out to those who have unexpectedly lost loved ones.

People are still being fed. Amid draconian laws, GOD’s people brave the harsh landscapes to help each other, feed each other, comfort each other, serve each other. We maintained the community of the Body.

Babies are still being born.

Meet Rachael. Her mother died two days after she was born.
During these trying times, babies are still being born to poor families all over the world. In Malawi, the WeRemnant family supports Crisis Nursery which rescues abandoned infants. These babies are abandoned due to many reasons, but the biggest reason is the death of their mothers and the subsequent inability of their fathers to care for them due to poverty.
That is where you and I step in.
JESUS said that whatever you and I do for the least of these HIS brethren, we have done unto HIM (Matthew 25:40).

The WeRemnant family gives fathers, grandmothers, and other relatives the baby food and supplies necessary to care for these precious infants each month. We work with social workers and nurses licensed by the Malawi government to inspect the infants’ health and living conditions each month.

To help these poor families, we also provide a large bag of maze, feeding the entire family for a month.

Thank you, Family, for giving these parents and caregivers the ability to provide “fish,” “bread,” and “eggs” for these infant orphans. Your giving blesses the entire family.

As we do this for JESUS’ brethren and our family in the faith, we are confident that the FATHER will continue to pour out more of HIS HOLY SPIRIT on us.

The WeRemnant family gives fathers, grandmothers, and other relatives the baby food and supplies necessary to care for these precious infants each month. We work with social workers and nurses licensed by the Malawi government to inspect the infants’ health and living conditions each month.

Expect HIS wonders in your life today, amen.

JESUS Keeps Loving the Unloved, Every Day

“The book of the genealogy of JESUS CHRIST, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: 2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.  3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.  4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.  5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, 6 and Jesse begot David the king.” Matthew 1:1-5 (NKJV)

Only the SPIRIT of GOD could cause genealogies to come alive because they represent life. Each name represents a baby born and a life lived, blessed be the Name of the LORD.

With all the injustice that surrounds us every day, it is easy to get discouraged, easy to get overwhelmed. I wonder how Leah felt.

She was given in marriage to a man she knew loved another woman – her own younger sister. It was so obvious she was unloved, that GOD HIMSELF made sure it was stated in the Bible in Genesis 29:31. GOD didn’t just mention it; HE comforted her.

“31 When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, HE opened her womb; but Rachel was barren.” Genesis 29:31 (NKJV)

Leah, the unloved, the uncared for, the unjustly treated, became the mother of Judah. She became mother of an entire tribe. The tribe of Praise. The tribe of Judah. The tribe of JESUS.

Every baby born alive is a life that GOD wants protected. A life that GOD wants fed, educated, loved. When a baby’s mother dies and the baby is abandoned, it is hard to see how that is fair. Due to poverty, the life of an orphan in a developing country is very hard.

Like Leah, the orphan babies are unloved, uncared for and unjustly treated. Many end up in child trafficking rings that sell them into slavery to evil taskmasters, even in 2020.

Nevertheless, GOD knows how to make up for what is broken. HE knows how to un-break the broken and heal the divides. HE alone can turn the unloved into fathers and mothers of tribes.

Thanks to your love gifts, we are able to feed abandoned babies and orphans that the LORD brings our way.

You are the ones JESUS uses to sustain them through the hard times and propel them into their destinies with hope.
